Form PF: Extension to compliance date for the amendments to Form PF

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Future Trading Commission (CFTC) have further extended the compliance date for the Form PF amendments adopted in February 2024.

The current compliance date of 1 October 2026 has been moved to 1 July 2027, giving affected investment advisers additional time to prepare for the changes.

Form PF is the confidential reporting form required for certain SEC-registered investment advisers to private funds, including advisers that are also registered with the CFTC as commodity pool operators (CPOs) or commodity trading advisers (CTAs).

The extension will be welcome news for firms that have been preparing for the amended requirements. It provides additional time to assess the impact of the changes, review reporting processes and ensure the necessary data and controls are in place.

However, with the new compliance date now set for July 2027, firms should continue their preparations and monitor further regulatory developments closely.
